Lontano Quartet
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Formed in 2015 by two friends in the corridors of the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique of Paris \u2013 then called \u00abKolt\u00e8s\u00bb at first \u2013 the Lontano Quartet has since forged strong ties, united in its particular attraction to the turmoils and clashes of the 20 th century.<\/p>\n

The programme of this album recorded in the gorgeous church Notre Dame de Toute Gr\u00e2ce at Assy, shows its preference for the modern music repertoire \u2013 built around the figure of the romantic composer Antonin Dvo\u0159\u00e1k.<\/p>\n

Eager for disc overies, the Quartet still trains with musicians like Rapha\u00ebl Merlin (Quatuor Eb\u00e8ne) or Jeanne-Marie Conquer (Ensemble Intercontemporain): to its pleasure of interpreting an infinite repertoire, rich with sometimes little known masterpieces, the quartet also nourishes a deep interest for creating contemporary music works, rehearsing along composers, and conceiving original projects.<\/p>\n

These collaborations actually bring them to share the stage with such partners as the clarinettist Michel Portal, the saxophonist Vincent L\u00ea Quang, the pianist S\u00e9bastien Vichard, the cellist Dominique de Williencourt , the violinist Alexis Galp\u00e9rine, the mezzo-soprano Amaya Dominguez.<\/p>\n

The Lontano Quartet has been in regular residency at the Plateau d\u2019Assy (Haute-Savoie) where it performs each summer as part of the Musicales d\u2019Assy Festival.<\/p>\n
