Le Forestay de Chexbres
Orchestre de Ribaupierre – André Truan, Conductor.

Since 1917, the Orchestre de Ribaupierre, located in La Tour-de-Peilz, has provided a space for creativity for amateur musicians and young professionals from the region. Our goal? To cultivate musical passion and uncover new talents. While primarily exploring classical and romantic repertoire, our repertoire is not afraid to venture into less traditional paths. We offer two to three annual concert series on the Riviera vaudoise and in Lausanne, under the enthusiastic direction of Maxime Pitois.

Founded in Montreux in 1917 by the violinist Emile de Ribaupierre under the name of the Society of the Conservatory Orchestra of Montreux, it was renamed the Ribaupierre Orchestra in 1932 in honor of its conductor and founder.

Today, under the inspired direction of the talented conductor Maxime Pitois, it brings together around sixty amateur musicians as well as young professionals mainly from the Vevey, Lausanne, and La Gruyère regions.

The orchestra’s repertoire is primarily devoted to classical and romantic music, while also exploring other horizons such as the discovery of modern or contemporary works, thus weaving links between orchestral music and more popular pieces.
