Raised in a family of musicians, Jeanne Bovet had no difficulty in asserting her passion for music. At the age of six, after having been in close companionship with her Bl\u00fcthner grand piano since early childhood, she entered the Conservatory of Neuch\u00e2tel, Switzerland, where she received the fundamental and highly important teaching of three exceptional professors: Mrs Colin-Thomas, Louis Kelterborn and Fritz-Hans Rehbold.<\/p>\n

At the age of 15, after her application for the piano and organ diplomas had been refused \u2014 the required age being 18 \u2014 she fulfilled her deepest wish: to study with the pianist Alfred Cortot at the \u00c9cole Normale de Musique in Paris. She completed the full course of licences under the guidance of Marthe Morhange, Yvonne Lef\u00e9bure, Nadia Boulanger, Charles Koechlin, Olivier Messiaen, Charles M\u00fcnch, Igor Stravinsky, and of course Alfred Cortot, with whom she developed a warm musical bond that lasted until his death \u2014 around a hundred letters from all corners of the world\u2026 Her fellow students included Dinu Lipatti, Samson Fran\u00e7ois, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Boschi, the violinist Ginette Neveu, and later Miguel-Angel Estrella.<\/p>\n

It was also at the \u00c9cole Normale that she met Paul Dukas, Francis Poulenc, Jean Hubeau, Lazare L\u00e9vy, Jacques Thibaud and Charles Panz\u00e9ra…<\/p>\n
