Together, they perform the remarkable feat of singing and playing a variety of instruments. As listeners hear these unusual tone colors and melodic figures, they will notice both the similarities and differences between Western and African musical idioms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Sendaula<\/strong> has gained recognition in Europe and America through his concert appearances and performances on radio and television. In 1967, he and his brother Benny won first prize at the <strong>International Folklore Music Festival<\/strong> in Cologne, West Germany.<\/p>\n<p>The songs selected for this record express a wide range of emotions. The sweet potatoes must be abandoned and replaced by other vegetables to complement Daddy\u2019s present (meat) for lunch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BYE BYE SAMU<\/strong><br \/>\nLove without affection is unbearable. Samu is abandoned by his girlfriend because of his lack of tenderness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALI OMU<\/strong><br \/>\nHe is the Only One, the Creator of heaven and earth. He came to redeem us, and He was born in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOYI<\/strong><br \/>\nA young man expresses his deep love for his sweetheart Joyce, a beauty in every respect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABO BAKULIMBA<\/strong><br \/>\nA deserted husband, filled with despair, calls on his beloved wife to return home and peacefully continue their marriage. The woman left him after hearing rumors that he had other lovers.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>SIDE B<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>ABAVUBUKA ABAVUBUSE<\/strong><br \/>\nYou, the youth, always give respect to your parents. Remember that they raised you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WAJJANGALA<\/strong><br \/>\nDeath is inevitable. A time will come when death will reach you, no matter where you are\u2014whether rich or poor. What a dreadful enemy death is!<\/p>\n<p><strong>TIRIRI<\/strong><br \/>\nLet me sing Tiriri, for I am unfortunate. Life without success is a great burden. Nobody loves me because I am poor. Oh!
