It is with joy and enthusiasm that I welcomed the proposal of the Protestant Parish of Carouge to make this recording in the context of the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Temple of Carouge, of which I am the organist. The generous beauty of this temple is in itself a source of inspiration.
I wanted this recording to be an echo of the “musical services” that I have had the pleasure of organizing for many years. It contains works for solo organ, sacred vocal pieces and a few so-called ‘church sonatas’, and I have called on the soprano Marjeta Iva Cerar and a string trio consisting of Juliette Roumailhac and Jonathan Nubel, violins, and Karolina Plywaczewska, cello, who play on period instruments using, depending on the work, either baroque or classical bows.
