Kammerorchester Ensemble Classico
The chamber orchestra Ensemble Classico was founded by the two concert violinists Pierre Cochand and Lui Chan. Depending on the programme, the chamber orchestra brings together musicians from very diverse nations. Members of the ensemble come from Switzerland, China, Japan, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Spain, Italy and the USA.
The Ensemble Classico makes regular guest appearances in Peking, Tokyo, Vienna and New York. Music festivals such as the Bregenz Festival, the Upper Austrian Stiftskonzerte (Monastery Concerts), the Schlosskonzerte in Halbturn, the concert cycle Attnang-Puchheim, the Kaisersaalkonzerte Memmingen, the concert cycle “Musik im Kloster Einsiedeln” (CH) and the Schlosskonzerte Rapperswil are fixed points in the calendar of the chamber orchestra. On Mediterranean cruises the orchestra plays with major soloists in Genoa, Barcelona, Palma, Ibiza and St. Tropez.
There are also many Ensemble Classico recordings for television, radio and on CD with famous soloists such as Peter-Lukas Graf, Michael Martin Kofler, Ursula Holliger, Marlise Ganz, Alfons Kontarsky, Konrad Ragossnig, Zuzana Ruzickova and many other important artists.
