1820, a salon in Geneva The Geneva composer Caroline Boissier-Butini wrote six piano concertos in the early 19th century, making her exceptional in Switzerland.

Her 6th concerto, “Suisse”, characterised by the central movement, which quotes the “ranz des vaches” in its entirety, was first published in 2009, and has since been performed successfully in concert and on the radio.

The publication of the 5th concerto in 2016 by Harmonia Helvetica (www.harmonia-helvetica.ch) is a further step in discovering the previously little-known repertoire of Swiss 19th-century composers.

Here, the Association Caroline Boissier-Butini (www.carolineboissierbutini.ch), which was founded in 2017, presents the world premiere recording of the 5th piano concerto and the first recording on period instruments of the 6th concerto.
